who we are and what we do
We have a special interest in the Jewish people, antisemitism, and the central role played by Israel in Scripture and in past, present and future history.
I am a Bible teacher, photographer, media producer, and occasional commentator.
Sheree is an historian, researcher and writer. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Auckland (Thesis: Zionism in New Zealand to 1948). She recently completed a scholars-in-residence course at Oxford on antisemitism.
We have four adult children - all were homeschooled.
Below is a summary of our projects.

Dr Sheree Trotter
In this book I argue that Israel and its restoration are subjects central to the biblical account. Failure to properly handle the biblical data on Israel undermines the divine communication project and distorts the identity and destiny of the Messiah Himself. An extended section surveys the techniques replacement theologians have employed in order to avoid the necessary implications of explicit biblical statements. Endorsed by several international scholars.
Sheree is Maori (Te Arawa) and in 2021 launched the Indigenous Coalition For Israel. It is an international Christian initiative and was co-founded by a former cabinet minister of the NZ government, Hon Alfred Ngaro. ICFI raises a collective indigenous voice in support of Israel. Sheree frequently publishes articles and videos responding to the anti-Israel narrative.
Sheree is Director of Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem, a platform for indigenous solidarity with Israel. It launched 1 February 2024 in Jerusalem at an event hosted by Friends of Zion Museum. IEJ has already generated considerable interest from the Jewish community and indigenous groups throughout the world.
In 2012 we together founded Holocaust and Antisemitism Foundation, Aotearoa New Zealand, a non-sectarian charity, controlled by a board of Holocaust survivors, academics, Jewish and non-Jewish leaders. We have photographed and interviewed 70 survivors. HAFANZ opposes antisemitism, Holocaust distortion and universalisation. I have designed and produced three touring exhibitions. Our work has been shown throughout NZ and in UAE, Germany and Australia.
Our latest exhibition. Currently on show in one of NZ’s major musea.
As a result of the 7 October attack, I wrote a statement of solidarity with Israel and sought the endorsement of multiple Christian leaders.
In 2015 I recorded a short film series in Jerusalem addressing Christian anti-Zionism, replacement theology and antisemitism. It is entitled Evangelical Zionism: An Evangelical Response to Israel’s Evangelical Enemies.
The story of Le Chambon in the South of France is a wonderful yet anomalous example of Christian conduct in an otherwise appalling record of church failure during the Holocaust. I produced this three minute film on Le Chambon and hope to create a full length piece in future.
In 2017 I co-founded the Israel Institute of New Zealand, an independent think tank dedicated to analysis, commentary and advocacy. IINZ was founded directly as a result of NZ’s co-sponsorship of the antisemitic UNSC Resolution 2334. Co-directors are a Jewish academic and a business leader. In 2019 I produced The Israel Report, a film series for IINZ for Shine TV.
In 2008 I created a project based on twenty-two messianic prophecies or titles in the Old Testament, one for every letter of the Hebrew alphabet. I then sought commentary from various messianic scholars and leaders. The project is under redevelopment.
I sometimes pay the bills as a wedding photographer and media producer.
